Becker-Antriebe GmbH donates 5,000 euros to the Parents' Association of the Peiper Ward in Gießen
Becker-Antriebe GmbH demonstrates solidarity and support with a generous €5,000 donation to the Parents' Association of the Peiper Ward in Gießen. For over 42 years, the association has been committed to supporting children and adolescents battling leukemia and cancer, as well as their families.
Founded in 1982 out of necessity, the Parents' Association is now a pioneer in its field, earning recognition both regionally and nationally. Their work spans from direct support for affected children to the promotion of innovative technologies, such as school avatars. These avatars enable sick children to participate in their class's social life despite their illness.
"Our school avatars, AV1, are a milestone in supporting children. They can turn their heads, speak, light up, and even wink – all on behalf of a sick child who cannot physically attend school," explains a representative of the association. Recently, seven of these avatars were purchased, financed through donations from local businesses.
The association also provides support for the families of affected children. Key initiatives include sibling programs, establishing a family center, and funding research projects to improve treatment options.
With its €5,000 donation, Becker emphasizes the importance of supporting such valuable initiatives. "We are impressed by the work of the Parents' Association and proud to contribute to efforts that benefit both the children and their families," says Maik Wiegelmann, Managing Director of Becker.
The Parents' Association of the Peiper Ward expressed heartfelt gratitude for the generous support: "Such donations form the foundation of our work. They enable us to continue providing swift and uncomplicated assistance while offering new perspectives to our young patients and their families."
Becker-Antriebe’s contribution is part of a longstanding tradition of regional corporate support, originating from the "Tour der Hoffnung" (Tour of Hope). Initially known as the "Peiper Tour," this initiative has grown into a nationally recognized fundraising campaign. Thanks to this support, the Parents' Association can continue its diverse work and make a meaningful impact on society.
